We tell you when to switch. Above 200 online bookings a month, Fixed is cheaper. So we email you about it, instead of leaving you to spot it on an invoice. With us you never pay more than €69 per location when that's better for you.
Slide to the number of bookings guests make online themselves. Appointments you enter yourself don't count.
Four things we never do
This isn't a promise in the fine print. It's in our terms and it's on this page.
Payments: we don't touch your money
Your guests pay into your own Stripe account. Stripe invoices you directly, at their own published rates. We don't add a cent.
| Payment method | Cost | To whom |
|---|---|---|
| iDEAL | €0.29 per transaction | Stripe |
| Debit / credit card (EU) | 1.5% + €0.25 | Stripe |
| Cash or your own card reader | €0 | Nobody |
| Marley markup | €0.00 | Nobody |
Stripe's rates, valid July 2026. Check them yourself at stripe.com/nl. Prefer to keep using your own card reader? Fine. Marley works with or without one.
Card payments in the salon Coming soon
Soon you'll be able to take card payments with a Marley terminal too: one system, one overview, tips and no-show fees included. At cost, we make nothing on it.
| Card payments via Marley | Cost | To whom |
|---|---|---|
| BBPOS WisePad 3 reader | €59 one-off | Cost price |
| BBPOS WisePOS E reader | €199 one-off | Cost price |
| Per card transaction (EU card) | 1.4% + €0.10 | Stripe |
| Marley markup | €0.00 | Nobody |
Many Dutch salons take card payments via CCV or Pay.nl for €0.03 to €0.09 per transaction. On a €37.50 haircut our terminal costs €0.63, a fair bit more. Do the maths with your own contract. Keeping your own reader? Fine: you take payment on your own device and tap "cash / own reader" in the POS. The appointment is closed, your day sheet adds up, your VAT overview adds up. That costs you nothing extra and we won't nag about it.
On Zettle now (1.95%)? Then we're cheaper: €0.63 versus €0.73 on a €37.50 haircut. On SumUp (1.49%)? Then they're a few cents per transaction cheaper than us. At 50 transactions a month that's about €3.
Our terminal is for those without a card contract yet, or who want everything in one system: POS, calendar, tips and a guest's card for no-show fees. Not because it's cheaper.
Frequently asked questions
What counts as an online booking?
An appointment your guest makes themselves via your booking page, your website widget or the QR code in your shop. If you enter it yourself (a walk-in, a phone call, a regular who texts), it's free. You only pay for what Marley brings you.
Do my guests pay anything extra when they book online?
No. Never. Not when booking online, not when paying online, not on a deposit. Some systems charge your guest €1.49 to €9.99 in service fees the moment they pay online, and forbid you from adjusting your price. We don't: the price on your booking page is the price your guest pays.
Do I have to turn on online payments to use Marley?
No. The €0.25 is about the booking, not the payment. Let your guests pay by card or cash in the salon and nothing changes on your invoice. Turn on deposits against no-shows and you pay nothing extra for it. We actually think it's a good idea.
How and when do I pay?
One automatic direct debit per month: your base plus that month's online bookings, with the full list attached. No fees scraped off every transaction, no surprises. Cancel monthly, no annual contract, no cancellation fees.
What does paying yearly get me?
Two months free. Flex then costs €190 per year per location instead of €228, Fixed €690 instead of €828. You pay the base up front; the €0.25 per online booking still runs monthly in arrears, since you can't pay that in advance. Choose Fixed + yearly and you get exactly one invoice a year and nothing else.
And no: we don't renew your annual plan silently. A month before it ends you get an email asking whether you want to continue. Do nothing and you go back to monthly, not into a new year.
What will the card reader cost later?
We sell the devices at cost price: €59 for the WisePad 3, €199 for the WisePOS E (excl. VAT). We make nothing on them. Card transactions cost 1.4% + €0.10 to Stripe. We add €0 there too. If you already have a card reader with a sharp per-transaction rate, you're cheaper off with your current provider. We'd rather say that now than have you find out in three months.
When do I move to Fixed?
At 200 online bookings a month Flex costs exactly €69. From there Fixed is cheaper. (Paying yearly, that point sits around 170 bookings, because your base is lower.) If you're above it two months running, we email you. We have no interest in you overpaying: a salon that feels ripped off leaves.
What if I have multiple locations?
Each location has its own base (€19 or €69) and its own calendar, staff and POS. You see them all in one overview, and you get one invoice. You choose Flex or Fixed per location.
